GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

September 28, 2017

The Meeting was called to order by President Anderson.

The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.

A moment of Silence was observed for deceased members.

Roll Call was taken by Treasure Hoffman.     All board members present.

The previous month’s minutes were presented by Secretary Wallace.   Vice President Kowolonek made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes.   Second by Delegate Long.   Motion passed.                      

The Financial Report was given by Treasure Hoffman.   A motion to accept the Financial Report was made by Secretary Wallace.   Second by Delegate Loerich.  Motion passed.  (Financial Report on file at Union Office.)

COMMUNICATIONS

President Anderson discussed two (2) solicitations received.  One (1) from the United Way and one (1) regarding the Basketball Extravanga.  Motion made by Delegate Waller to not participate regarding the Basketball Extravaganza for 2018.  Second by Delegate King. (Discussion) Motion passed.

Motion made by Secretary Wallace to donate $200 (Two Hundred Dollars) to The United Way, and to specify an agency for donation.  Second by Delegate Long.  (Discussion) selection for a United Way Organization with a focus on Military Veterans.  Motion passed.

President Anderson and Vice-President Kowolonek discussed setting a budget for donations going forward.  Motion passed.

Vice-President Kowolonek discussed communication to all union members to encourage participation in the 401K program.  President Anderson also discussed the 401k- Discrimination Testing Letter, (company currently reviewing); this could impact all union groups.

Vice-President Kowolonek discussed By-Laws Revision, requests all feed-back ready from board members to be present at meeting October 26, 2017.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS – President Anderson

Grievances:  Meter Reading – Safety Incentive answer received – grievance denied.   Board motion passed to not pursue to arbitration.

Local 600 Annual Picnic – Delegate King was able to negotiate a refund of $250.00 from the cater (regarding issue with preparation of chicken)

Sale of stock (Matt Darpel) – to invest from sale:  $25,000 to Low growth, $25,000 to Moderate growth and $55,000 High yield.

 NEW BUSINESS:

Dynegy Contract negotiations for contact ending April 2018.  Motion made by President Anderson to add note taker (i.e. Secretary Wallace) to negonation team.  Second by Delegate Loerich.  Motion passed.  Dynegy Negotiations team will consist of:  President Anderson, Vice-President Kowolonek, Delegate Boykin and Representative Sandy, for Local 600.

New position within Local 600, Lighting Specialist – conference call with the company held September 20, 2017.  Copy of agreement to be signed and management will meet with the groups affected.

Storm Committee and Storm Response – (discussion regarding having one (1) storm list, consolation of lists – to include hours and to update the out-of-town list (for damage accessors) out-of-town.

Bond Rate (Cash Balance) – will be sent to all members via email.  (See 2018 interest conversion rate table.)

Rep/Delegate Dinner – 16 November 2017 – Delegates Long, Waller and Secretary Wallace will provide update and information to make selections at next board meeting October 26, 2017.

OFFICER’S REPORTS

·         Vice President Kowolonek -   Dynegy will schedule meetings for Contract discussions for 2018.

·         Delegate(s) Waller/Long – local 600 works being processed by exempt employees and retired union member’s work not being replaced (instructed by President Anderson a grievance needs to be filed.) – Management stated not aware member was retiring.

·         Delegate Long – fact finding results in IT.

·         Delegate Loerich – member in meter reading wants to file grievance.

·         Delegate King – Fact finding in call center.  OJT has been assigned in SI, due to storms/service level meeting hasn’t been scheduled.

Delegate Waller made a motion to adjourn.  Second by Delegate Boykin.  Motion passed.  Adjourned.
