GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.
A moment of silence was observed.
Roll Call was taken by Treasurer Turner. Delegate Hoffman not present.
The previous month’s minutes were presented by Secretary Kowolonek. Lori Warren made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes. Second by Camille Waller. Motion passed.
The Financial Report was presented by Treasurer Turner. A motion to accept the Financial Report was made by DL Wallace. Second by Steve Kowolonek. Motion passed.
Jovante Woods Foundation – President Anderson presented a letter from the Jovante Woods Foundation asking for Local 600 to help sponsor their basketball event this year at NKU. Last year, the event was presented by the A Kid Again Foundation. After discussion, the matter was tabled until next month while President Anderson gathers more information on the foundation.
Election Committee – President Anderson informed the Board that Election Committee Chairman Jim Deering was preparing for the upcoming election.
Gas Marketing Specialist – President Anderson presented the finalized letter concerning the Gas Marketing Specialist position. The specifics of this letter had been voted on in a prior Board meeting.
Annual Picnic – Picnic Chairwoman Patty Memering discussed the upcoming picnic and some of the concerns.
Meter Reading Safety Incentives – President Anderson discussed the situation with Safety Incentives in Meter Reading. Delegate Hoffman will set up a meeting with Meter Reading Management to discuss the matter.
Annual Rep/Delegate Dinner – Discussion occurred about the annual Rep/Delegate Dinner. It was decided not to have both the monthly General Board Meeting and the Dinner at the same time. Allowing both events to occur at the same time has created confusion in the past. This year, the Monthly Board Meeting will take place at 4 pm at the Hall. The dinner will occur at 6 pm. The restaurant has not yet been determined.
American Income Life – Each year, members of Local 600 receive information from American Income Life describing a $3000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit. Our members do not have to send in the card that they receive to acquire this benefit. This benefit is free to our members. If you are interested in additional services from American Income Life, please mail in the informational card and American Income Life will contact you. Lori Turner will create a flyer to place on all Union Boards.
Delegate Memering – she discussed job descriptions and the use of “job equivalent” being used by the Company.
Grievance #408 – Senior Work Management Overtime Issue – Vice President Warren described the grievance to the Board. The Grievant also discussed the situation and the issues involved. After discussion and questions to the grievant, the grievant left. The Board voted to take this Grievance 408 to Arbitration.
A motion to adjourn was made by DL Wallace. Second by Lori Warren. Motion passed.
