GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

October 25, 2018

The Meeting was called to order by President Anderson.

The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.

A moment of Silence was observed for deceased members.

Roll Call was taken by Treasurer Hoffman.  All board members present.

Previous month’s minutes were read by Secretary Wallace.   A motion was made by Vice President Kowolonek to accept the reading of the last month’s minutes.   Second by Delegate Loerich.  Motion passed.               

The Financial Report was given by Treasurer Hoffman.    A motion was made by Delegate Waller to accept the Treasures Report.  Second by Delegate Long.  Motion passed.  (Financial Report on file at Union Office.)

COMMUNICATIONS – N/A

UNFINISHED BUSINESS – Vice-President Kowolonek

Christmas Families – A motion was made by Vice-President Kowolonek to provide $500.00 (Five Hundred Dollars) to make purchased for our Christmas Family Donation for both Ohio and Northern Kentucky Families.  Second by Secretary Wallace.  Motion passed.  President Anderson will contact Chrissy Knobloch for the Kentucky Family and Delegate Waller will contact a member who attended our membership meeting to see if they will volunteer to make purchases for the Ohio families.

Enable - Arbitration – Enable Arbitration has been settled.

Annual Picnic – Coney Island – bill has been received - $4,782.00 and gift cards purchased bill received - $1,300.00.

NEW BUSINESS:

Election Committee - UWUA, Local 600 Election Committee members – will be Mike Edwards, Tim Noland, Lisa Mobarry and Robyn Shepherd.   This committee will meet, 30 October 2018.  Jim Deering (retired) former UWUA, Local 600 Election Committee, Chair has agreed to meet with new committee and provide assistant.

Executive Board – due to the pending retirement of UWUA, Local 600 – President Anderson effective 30 November 2018, the Board will need (per By-Laws) elect current Board member to fill vacancy.

UWUA, Local 600 – Results of General Board Election for vacancy for UWUA, Local 600 President position.

President - Steve Kowolonek, Vice-President – Mike Hoffman, Treasurer – Jueisha Boykin – newly elected positions will begin, December 1, 2018.

Vacant Positions – UWUA, Local 600 General Board – due to filling of recent Executive Board position vacancies, and movement within both the Executive Board and General Board, there are now two (2) vacancies that will need to be filled on the UWUA Local 600 General Board.  The vacancies are both for Delegates for Area A.   The UWUA Local 600, Negotiation Committee will begin to process information in November 2018, to hold an election to fill those current vacant positions in Area A.

OFFICER’S REPORTS:

Vice President Kowolonek -  RSR’s – to begin taking call center base calls – (high volume call days- 2 hours on those day)…  Discussion - Call center reps being trained to the RSR position...

Treasurer Hoffman – Delegate Boykin will attend the UWUA Local 600, audit scheduled October 30, 2018.

Delegate Loerich – Meter reading, may find there are issues that will need to be addressed once the retirements in meter reading are processed.   Suggested we bring employees in meter reading together to discuss any issues.

Delegate Boykin – Discussed Storm Duty “Call –Out” and how it was processed.  The issue addressed processed used to contact employees, this issue has been discussed with management.  A meeting was also held with management to provide the required training for new Engineering Specialist, to obtain experience needed for out-of-town call outs.

Delegate Long – Fact-findings – two (2) scheduled.   1st stage grievance to go immediately to 3rd stage.

Delegate Waller made a motion to adjourn.  Second by Vice-President Kowolonek.  Motion passed.  Adjourned.
