GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.
A moment of silence was observed.
Roll Call was taken by Treasurer Cockrell. Delegates Waller and Turner absent.
The previous month’s General Board Minutes were given by Secretary Kowolonek. A motion to accept the previous month’s minutes was made by Shirley Cockrell. Second by Lori Warren. Motion passed.
The Financial Report was presented by Treasurer Cockrell. A motion to accept the Financial Report was made by Lori Warren. Second by Lisa Webster. Motion passed.
President Anderson presented the Board with a thank you note from the Webster family for the flowers at DL Wallace’s brother’s funeral.
Update- President Anderson discussed problems with Duke management allowing
members off for Union business with Dynegy. This situation has been resolved by
Duke Energy Labor Relations.
Refund from Imprint (cups) - Delegate Webster told the Board that $540.38 had been refunded to the Union because of misprinted cups the Local had ordered. Discussion occurred about what to do with the remaining misprinted cups.
President Anderson discussed a situation with a member being placed into a new position due to a roll back.
Internal Audit- Treasurer Cockrell discussed setting up dates to have the Audit Committee perform their yearly audit.
Arbitrations- President Anderson discussed 4 upcoming arbitrations. He is trying to schedule one arbitration a month. After discussion, Mike Hoffman made a motion to use Local 600 Attorney Julie Ford to represent Local 600 in these arbitrations. Second by DL Wallace. Motion passed.
Gas Marketing Grievance- President Anderson discussed the grievance with the Board and his discussions with the Company.
July Board Meeting- The four officers will be attending the UWUA National Convention in July. The dates of this convention and the July Board meeting are in conflict. Discussion occurred concerning this.
Engineering Specialist- President Anderson discussed his conversation with the company concerning this job posting.
Delegate Hoffman- He discussed the movement of meter readers to different headquarters.
Jim Anderson made a motion to adjourn. Second by Steve Kowolonek. Motion passed.
