GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.
A moment of silence was observed.
Roll Call was taken by Treasurer Cockrell. Secretary Kowolonek and Delegate Memering not present.
A motion was made by Camille Waller to dispense with the reading of the prior month’s minutes. Second by Lori Warren. Motion passed.
The Financial Report was presented by Treasurer Cockrell. A motion to accept the Financial Report was made by Lori Turner. Second by Camille Waller. Motion passed.
Region III Educational Convention- Discussion occurred concerning the Convention. Delegates Waller, Hoffman, and Wallace agreed that it was a great convention.
By Laws Committee- Discussion took place concerning the By Laws Committee and the proposed changes. With the absence of By Laws Committee Member Kowolonek, the discussion was tabled until next month’s meeting.
Annual UWUA Local 600 Celebration- Discussion occurred about the upcoming picnic.
Arbitration #392- President Anderson discussed the Arbitrator’s decision. Local 600 received a favorable outcome on this arbitration.
Internal Audit- The annual Local 600 audit is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Three (3) local 600 members – Paula Courtney-Stein, Charlotte Owens, and Holly McLaughlin – will conduct the audit.
A motion was made to place Holly McLaughlin on the Audit Committee was made by Lori Turner. Second by Shirley Cockrell. Motion passed.
Dynegy clerk – President Anderson discussed a meeting with Dynegy management and the hiring of a new clerk.
Membership Cards – Treasurer Cockrell and President Anderson discussed that Membership Cards are needed within 31 days for new hires.
Local 600 Election – discussion occurred about the upcoming UWUA Local 600 election. Lori Warren made a motion to mail the election ballots to each members home. Second by Mike Hoffman. Motion passed.
Meter Reading Incentives- President Anderson discussed Meter Reading Safety Incentives.
Retirement of Treasurer Cockrell – President Anderson bid farewell to retiring Treasurer Cockrell. He thanked her for her excellent work for our Local. Delegate Turner will be taking over the responsibility of Treasurer.
Treasurer Cockrell – she discussed Union Activity payments.
President Anderson – he discussed the need for 2 printers and a new computer. Lisa Webster made a motion to purchase 2 printers and a new computer. Second by Lori Turner. Motion passed.
Delegate Webster – she discussed vacation issues within her workgroup and issues in the Call Center.
Delegate Turner – she discussed Asbestos concerns.
Delegate Waller – she discussed other concerns with Asbestos. Vice President Warren says that the company is looking into these concerns.
A motion to adjourn was made by Shirley Cockrell. Second by Lori Turner. Motion passed.
